“I am excited and honoured to announce my commitment to continue my academics and play NCAA Division 1 hockey at RPI,” Witkowski wrote. “Thank you to my family, coaches, teammates and friends who have helped me on this journey.”
The Toronto native is slightly undersized at 5-foot-11 and 176 lbs. He began his career with the Toronto Marlboros of the GTHL in 2020-21, and played two years with the team, accumulating 41 points in 35 games.

That performance earned him a position with the then-Mississauga Steelheads, who selected Witkowski 35th overall in the 2023 OHL Priority Draft. His first year in the league was a learning experience; he recorded just seven points in 58 games, three of them goals, and had no points in five playoff games.

His second year in the league was substantially better, earning 30 points in 68 games with 12 goals, more than triple his first year. His pace remained the same in his third and final season with the Steelheads as he potted 14 goals and 20 assists for a career-high 34 points.
Witkowski joins a Tigers squad that finished fifth in the Atlantic Hockey conference last season.
